I was born in Ireland and studied at Belfast College of Art. After many years in London I moved to Cornwall in 2003 and now live in a tiny hamlet between the moors with their desolate beauty and the wild craggy cliffs of the north coast.
My work is a response to the ever changing experience of being by the sea, on the moors and the land with its expanses of sky and light. Which ever medium I use, be it oils, acrylics or pastels, the image evolves through a process of building layer upon layer, with scratching and scraping back again and again.
